We drove from Sacramento to Pollock Pines to Roberts's tree farm on a yearly family adventure in search for the perfect Christmas tree. This year my sister in law and her little boy comes with us to help us make such an important decision! The boys are excited as they always get to explore a little before starting the search.
The search for the perfect tree begins, as we hike down the hill at the farm.
The kids are the primary lookouts for the perfect tree. They also play with each other as they discuss the various options. We finally settled on a tree and start the arduous and long process to cut, because everyone wants to take a turn at using the saw!
Unbeknownst to us Diego start cutting a much smaller tree for himself, and then Enzo throws a temper tantrum because he now wants his own tree. The owner says he can pick a small one of his own, he finds one and starts cutting one as well. Now they each have their own tree; wasteful and not ecological, I know, sorry mother earth! :-( Emil, meanwhile is enjoying the sibling rivalry and camaraderie at the same time.
Tree is tied to the Subi and we are ready to go, but not without having more play around the farm property.
After a short snack, Betsy and the boys decide to play and enjoy the sunny day!
We are now at home, tree on a stand and ready to install the lights!
This is what Christmas is all about, the togetherness of family! Decorating the tree is an adventure into itself!
What are these photos about?
Of course, no Christmas tree is finished without taking time to admire it, and install the top ornament!
